The $8000 tax credit has been extended through April 30, 2010! You may also qualify if you now own a home, which was not purchased within the last 3 years. Remember that your purchase must be under contract by 30 April 2010, and you have until 1 July 2010 to close the transaction. Let an experienced realtor guide you through these new regulations.
Bank Foreclosures and Short Sales are establishing a new reality for market values and represent great buying opportunities. I believe strongly that this may be the best time in years to buy a quality home at a significant discount from recent market prices.
The number of foreclosures nationally in the third quarter increased 5% over the second quarter and 23% over the same period in 2008, according to RealtyTrac Inc. who attributed some of the decrease to laws passed last year which require lenders to give distressed borrowers 45 days notice before filing default notices. North Carolina ranked 36th in the nation for foreclosure filings in the latest quarter, with a decrease of 13.46% from August, but an increase of 50.79% over the same period in 2008.
