Kure Beach . . .
Characteristics:
Kure Beach, another of North Carolina's most popular beaches, is also located south of Wilmington on Pleasure Island - along with Carolina Beach. Primarily a residential resort community, Kure Beach prides itself on its small town character, its family hotels and motels and its unique mixture of beach style cottages and resort style homes. The downtown area of Kure Beach, though small, includes several excellent restaurants and small businesses and one of North Carolina's oldest and best known fishing piers. There is also a great town front beach with lifeguards for protection of swimmers. The town of Kure Beach is putting in a park across from the ocean, and a boardwalk. The boardwalk is completed now and very nice. It really helps people carry their beach bags, etc. down to the beach, too.
Just south of Kure Beach is Fort Fisher, a national historic landmark. Fort Fisher is also the home of one of the North Carolina three state aquariums, which recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation.
Nearby, there's also a wonderful, state maintained beach park with public rest rooms, public parking, a snack bar and food vending areas. There's also a picnic area with tables and grilling areas for the family. Located just south of the aquarium on the Cape Fear River is the Fort Fisher ferry that provides service to Southport, NC seven days a week all through the year.
Kure Beach communities include: Beachwalk, Fort Fisher, Kure Beach Village, Kure Dunes, Kure Estates, Kure By The Sea, Kure View, Live Oak Forest, Ocean Dunes, Ocean Dunes Forest and The Riggings, Sea Watch.

As promised, here is the summary of sales and sales figures for the month. The number of sales FELL from 5 to 1. That isn't great news, but the price jumped quite nicely: The average sales price ROSE from $319,700.00 in November to $600,000 in December. The median sales dollar amount also ROSE quite dramatically from $335,000.00 in November to $600,000 in December, showing that we did much better in December. Just remember that information reflects just 1 sale, so things are likely to change significantly next month.
