There is a wonderful condominium complex in Kure Beach that everyone loves.  It is found at the most southern end of Kure, and consists of 196 units of various sizes. The original building was started in 1982, and there are now many buildings in the complex, most on the oceanfront, and two large three- story buildings with an elevator and its own pool for relaxing or sunning across the street.

The large complex on the oceanfront has two outdoor pools, and the one across the road has one outdoor pool.  The recreation c enter, which is its own facility, and is also on  the west side of S. Fort Fisher, has a large meeting center with kitchen facilities, and a regulation size swimming pool with a small hot tub attached.  There are two saunas, one for men and one for the women.  These facilities are open all year round for the use and enjoyment for owners and renters.  In its side yard is a playground for children, and a basketball court for all to use.

This great condo complex is just north of one of the North Carolina Aquariums, the Fort Fisher – Southport ferry area, which runs every 45 minutes, and a  very famous civil war site, which was the last to fall during the War between the States.

Just north about 5 miles, is the very popular Carolina Beach, which offers commercial attractions, Britt’s Donuts, and kiddie rides throughout the summer.  You must come down to enjoy the area.

  • Waterfront Living at the Beach

When a person writes or asks about living at the beach, he usually is asking for waterfront homes or condos.  Well, Carolina Beach has plenty.  One of my favorite places is the Waterfront Villas on the Intracoastal Waterway at the north end of the island.  It sits on a site where the top end of the beach rounds the corner going north or south in the waterway to the destination of choice.  The original building was constructed in 1998, and it stood alone until 2004, when the building boom started again.  Now there are two buildings, the original one having a smaller living space, and the newer one looking directly north on the waterway, each unit having an elevator.

A person must see the whole development, which also contains a lovely pool and meeting house for the community., as well as a marina for boat owners to use. The marina offers slips to the public for a price.  Some slips are owned by those who own a townhouse in Waterfront, but one may rent or purchase a slip whether or not he owns a townhome in the community.  You must come down to view the area to appreciate it.

  • Updates in the Market

The market is on a  rise at this time.  The towns of Carolina and Kure Beach have seen a lot of activity of late.  Kure is down a bit, but Carolina is up, especially since the short sales and foreclosures have been so prolific down here.  To see more on vacation and second homes, go to http://resortlife.blogs.realtor.org/
